Happy New Year!

We have a lot of exciting things already planned for 2025. This year's summer reading theme, "Color Your World," brings a focus on the arts. We're incorporating that theme throughout the year in various ways.

Our annual reading challenge is "Brush Up On Art History". You can find it on the Beanstack app, where you can also keep track of your reading, or pick up a paper copy of the challenge at the Main Desk. The challenge takes us from Prehistoric to contemporary times with multiple ways you can achieve each badge.

We're also introducing a new program that I'm personally very excited about, a monthly Artist Spotlight. Each month we'll learn about a particular artist and create art based on their work... however you want to interpret that. You definitely don't need to be a great artist to take part in this! I hope this program will introduce you to a wider variety of art and artists and challenge you to look at the world a little differently.

Keep reading for information about all of our programs this month. The library will be closed January 18 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Our Annual Meeting will be on January 21 at 5pm. Our first board meeting of the year will follow.

I hope to see you soon!
