December Announcements
We have some activities planned that we hope will add to the festive spirit of the times. Check out our first ever Advent Calendar on the Beanstack app, enjoy some crafting, or relax to some beautiful music. We also have a full month of movies for you to enjoy.
I want to thank everyone who participated in our Giving Tuesday fundraiser. As we approach the end of the year, please consider supporting the library so that we can start off strong in the new year.
The library is hiring for a part-time, evening Library Assistant. If you know of anyone who might be interested in working with us, please have them check out the job description on our website.
In other news, you will see a few changes at the library as we have moved a few collections. The audiobooks are now available between the Nonfiction and Young Adult collections on the first row of green shelving. The DVDs and Blurays have taken their place and the magazines will be moving to that first row of tall shelving across from the fireplace, as well. In the fireplace room, we have added a selection of games and puzzles that you can use when you visit. We ask that you return all the pieces to their appropriate boxes when you are done.
We also have been the recipient of a grant through the Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) and the LIbraries Connect Communities and Broadband Resources program, working with the Office of Commonwealth Libraries and KINBER. The most obvious change you may notice is the new, much faster, computers that we received to help people in our community access digital resources. The state is interested in hearing from community members who do not have access to broadband. You can give your feedback on this form. If you need assistance in paying for internet connections, check out the Affordable Connectivity Program.
We hope you can find some time to stop by this month!
